Adelaar
Adelaar is a sailing yacht running diving cruises in Indonesian waters, with a small group on board and a dedicated dive team.
The Cabins
All staterooms have individually controlled air-conditioning, as well as an entertainment system. Guest rooms are all en-suite with Kohler wash basins, Grohe faucets, a hot water shower, and JETS vacuum toilet. Amenities from “Sensatia Botanicals”, an Indonesian beauty care brand dedicated to offering natural products, include calming shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

The Crew
Adelaar’s crew consists of 10 Indonesian seamen, a Western Cruise Manager / PADI Dive Instructor, and a Divemaster. They are all certified and experienced, and they keep the diving and the sailing side of each cruise running.
The captain and the crew welcome you any time at the upper deck bridge area. From there, you can observe them at work, and get involved in navigating or steering the ship. They will also be up for a cup of tea, a chat, or a game of chess.
Activities
Besides scuba diving, snorkeling and land explorations, the Adelaar also offers sea kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, wake boarding and water skiing. All these to enjoy in a suitable bay, and whenever weather and sea conditions allow. There is a two-person kayak and two stand-up paddle boards available, which suit anyone who wants to explore a bay or the beaches on their own. If you prefer it faster and with more adrenaline, you might want to try our wake board with boots, helmet and safety vest.
Fine Dining Experience at Sea
The chefs cook a mix of Indonesian and Western food. Everything is prepared on board, and the chefs do the shopping themselves before each trip at local Balinese markets and trusted suppliers. Meals are served in the air-conditioned dining room or the salon, and out on deck when the weather allows.

The two local chefs, Wayan and Made, trained with a Belgian master-chef and have cooked on board Adelaar for 15 years. The menu pairs local specialities with international dishes.
Have a special request? Just let us know. Nothing is too much trouble for our two kitchen gurus. Since the galley is located just next to the dining room, you are welcome into their domain anytime.

Raja Ampat Central & South
Day 1 | Sorong to Matan Island
Your journey begins in Sorong. After airport or hotel pickup, you’re welcomed aboard Adelaar with a refreshing drink and a thorough safety briefing. As we begin our cruise southward toward Misool, we’ll stop for a relaxed check dive at Pulau Matan — a shallow, protected reef perfect for easing back into the water. Non-divers: Located near Sorong, Matan Island offers beautiful tropical white-sand beaches, where locals come to escape their industrial daily environment. Enjoy interacting with children and families playing along the shore, or relax with a drink at one of the small warungs (local eateries) that sell food and snacks on the beach. Overnight crossing to Misool (Daram area). (1 check dive)
Day 2 | Daram & Yilliet (Misool)
Diving in the remote Daram area, known for sites like Warna Bewarna, Andiamo, and Candy Store. Enjoy dive sites where schools of fusiliers swirl in the blue and numerous other fish thrive along stunning walls covered in soft corals and dramatic underwater topography. After a full day of diving in the mesmerizing waters of Daram, Adelaar will relocate to a more central part of the Misool area: Yilliet, a well-known anchorage and night dive site in Raja Ampat. The night dive will take place at the site "Romeo, the Impossible Lover." During the dive, we will look out for nocturnal creatures such as crustaceans, cuttlefish, nudibranchs, barracuda, blacktip reef sharks, and free-swimming moray eels hunting for food. If we’re lucky enough, we may spot and observe the shy, endemic Raja Ampat epaulette shark. Non-divers: snorkeling at Warna Berwarna or join a scenic dinghy tour along Daram’s limestone coastline. (3 day dives, 1 night dive)
Day 3 | Boo, Fiabacet and Wayil
Based on Misool Eco Resort’s permissions and regulations, we will be allocated dive sites from the following list:
Nudi Rock, Tank Rock – Some of the most iconic sites in Misool, famous for diverse macro life, stunning coral gardens, and abundant marine biodiversity. In areas with current, we will look for grey reef sharks and giant groupers in the blue, while schools of barracuda hover around the reef.
Whale Rock – Recognizable by its shape above the water, this site is made up of a large rock and a smaller one. The shallow waters are spectacular, offering a vivid mix of hard and soft corals. Between the islands, a small underwater pinnacle acts as a gathering point for fish — fusiliers, surgeonfish, sweetlips, and triggerfish all guard this small channel. If conditions allow, we might encounter curious grey reef sharks gently swimming in the current.
Gorgonian Passage – A mesmerizing drift dive through dense gorgonian coral fields, home to pygmy seahorses. The concentration of gorgonians here is among the most impressive in Raja Ampat. As we drift through this vibrant corridor, we’ll search for tiny critters and enjoy the unique underwater scenery.
Boo Windows – One of Misool’s most famous sites. Surrounded by stunning walls teeming with life and canyon-like shallows with pinnacles, this is a place where sharks, barracudas, trevallies, large groupers, and more can be observed. Keep an eye on the blue — surprises often pass by! Conditions permitting, the dive ends through the “window” that gives the site its name — a spectacular swim-through covered in vibrant corals, a dream for photographers.
Magic Mountain – A legendary cleaning station where giant pelagic manta rays are frequently seen. Located a mile off the southeastern tip of Misool, this dive site gained fame in the documentary Blue Planet II. It is a stunning example of Raja Ampat’s coral reef beauty and biodiversity. Schools of jacks, barracudas, reef sharks, large groupers, spadefish, and thousands of small reef fish call this reef home. Depending on the current, we will dive along the underwater mountain to its endpoint, marked by a small pinnacle. The site is rich with life from start to finish — one camera may not be enough.
Four Kings & Wedding Cake – A group of submerged pinnacles covered in sea fans and teeming with marine life. Non-diving highlights: Depending on the dive sites allocated by Misool Eco Resort, the main boat will anchor near a small hidden beach. After coordination with the resort, we may be allowed to visit this secluded paradise, which is a turtle nesting ground depending on the time of year. We will reach it by speedboat, kayak, or paddleboard if conditions allow and you feel adventurous. If granted permission by Misool Eco Resort, we may also enjoy a sunset visit to the beach — with a surprise in store! (4 day dives)
Day 4 | Fiabacet, Wayil, Pele
Another day exploring the stunning reefs of Misool, with dives at Nudi Rock, Tank Rock, Whale Rock, and Gorgonian Passage. There will be opportunities to revisit Boo Windows, Magic Mountain, and Four Kings for more incredible marine encounters. Adventure: Wayil is home to one of Raja Ampat’s most iconic viewpoints: Love Lake. From the top of the hill, admire this natural wonder — a heart-shaped lagoon with deep blue water at its center. Ideally, we will hike early in the morning before the dives, when everyone is fresh. Please note, however, that access is tide-dependent, as the reefs can become too shallow. (3 day dives)
Day 5 | Balbulol*
Exploring the Balbulol Lagoon, known for its dramatic limestone formations. Dives at sites such as Two Tree Island, Plateau, No Contest, and Love Potion, featuring impressive drop-offs, schooling fish, and stunning coral formations. Exploration: Today is the opportunity to see a bit more land after the last exceptional days of diving in Misool. You may also enjoy this as a light “off-gas” day before returning to more intense diving — though of course, the choice is entirely yours. If we are located in Balbulol, guests will have the option to skip the afternoon dive and instead enjoy a kayak or speedboat tour through the breathtaking karst lagoons. These unique limestone formations, sculpted by wind and waves, are among the natural wonders of Raja Ampat. Few places in the world offer such an intimate experience of this landscape — often with no one else around. Viewpoint hike: For our fittest and most adventurous guests, a steep viewpoint hike can be arranged. This would replace either a morning or afternoon dive. Please note that the trail has not been well maintained for some time. Good shoes, steady footing, and strong knees are essential. (2 day dives)
Option to visit one of two jellyfish lakes
Day 6 | Piaynemo
Diving in Piaynemo, home to some of the most picturesque landscapes and rich marine biodiversity in Raja Ampat.
Melissa’s Garden – A stunning coral reef famous for its dense hard coral formations and diverse marine life.
Keruo Channel – A high-energy drift dive with excellent visibility and large schools of fish.
Batu Rufus – A mix of sloping reefs and walls covered in soft corals, sea fans, and reef fish. Trek: Piaynemo is one of the most iconic viewpoints in Raja Ampat — so iconic, in fact, that it is pictured on the 100,000 Indonesian rupiah banknote. While the viewpoint can be visited at any time of day, we usually schedule the hike for late afternoon, just before the night dive. The walk takes only 15–20 minutes on wooden stairs. Flip-flops or sandals are fine — simply wear what makes you comfortable. If you’d like to enjoy a glass of wine or a cold beer at the top, just let us know and we’ll prepare it for you. (3 day dives)
Days 7-8 | Yangeffo & Mutus Village
Diving in Yangeffo, a region known for its stunning underwater landscapes and rich marine biodiversity.
Citrus Ridge – A colorful reef teeming with vibrant soft corals and a variety of reef fish.
Mayhem – A high-energy dive site where schools of barracudas, jacks, and trevallies patrol the currents.
Gam Ridge – A breathtaking ridge dive with abundant marine life and unique coral structures. Night dive in Yangeffo, offering a chance to see fascinating nocturnal creatures such as walking sharks and crustaceans. Non-diving activities: in the morning, we’ll make a cultural stop at Mutus Village to briefly immerse ourselves in local daily life. Just an hour’s cruise south from Wofoh, Mutus is a small but authentic fishing village. With its Protestant church, school, football field, and colorful houses bordered by flower gardens, it has a unique character and soul. Children may accompany us, smiling and laughing — and are often delighted to see their photos on your camera. Please do ask for permission before taking pictures of both children and adults. Depending on the tide, a wet landing may be necessary, so bring water shoes or flip-flops. Expect 30 minutes to an hour for a leisurely visit. In the afternoon, after reaching Yangeffo, enjoy spectacular snorkeling and diving in the mangrove-fringed reefs — among the healthiest in Raja Ampat. Kayaks and paddleboards will also be available for you to drift through the natural channels of this magical ecosystem. (6 day dives, 2 night dive)
Day 9 | Arborek and Mansuar
Diving in the heart of Raja Ampat’s vibrant reefs and iconic marine life, with 2 sites among the following:
Arborek Jetty – A vibrant site under a wooden pier, home to schooling fish, juvenile batfish, and macro life.
Manta Sandy – A world-renowned cleaning station where oceanic and reef manta rays gather.
Sawandarek Jetty – A dive featuring pristine hard corals, giant clams, and diverse reef fish, including Napoleon wrasse and bumphead parrotfish.
Yenbuba – A drift dive along a spectacular sloping reef with large schools of fusiliers, barracudas, and friendly turtles. Non-divers: can enjoy snorkeling from the jetties or observing mantas gliding through the cleaning stations.
After an overnight navigation, Adelaar arrives at the port of Sorong before dawn. Depending on your flight time, enjoy your final breakfast and last moments on board. It is, sadly, time to say goodbye. We truly appreciated having you on board and hope we exceeded your expectations. (2 day dives)
Day 10 | Sorong & Farewell
Early morning arrival in Sorong. After breakfast, our crew assists with airport transfers or hotel drop-off. As you disembark Adelaar, we hope the memories of this expedition — from manta rays and jungle peaks to quiet beaches and new friendships — stay with you long after your return.

Beyond Komodo & Whale Sharks
Day 1 | BALI
After boarding Adelaar in Serangan Harbor, we cast off and glide north along Bali’s dramatic coastline. As the afternoon light softens, Mount Agung often reveals itself in majestic silhouette — a fitting prelude to the journey ahead. By nightfall, we cross the Lombok Strait and continue eastward along Lombok’s northern shores, setting course for Sumbawa. The yacht sails steadily through the night toward Moyo Island.
Day 2 | MOYO ISLAND (2–3 day dives)
The expedition begins in the warm, clear waters surrounding Moyo Island. Offshore seamounts rise from the depths, their slopes adorned with healthy hard corals and vibrant reef fish life. Expect schooling fusiliers, trevallies, turtles and reef sharks in relaxed yet lively conditions. Between dives, guests may visit a traditional village or take a short inland excursion to Moyo’s freshwater waterfall, where a cool jungle pool offers a refreshing contrast to the sea. Overnight, Adelaar continues toward Teluk Saleh.
Day 3 | TELUK SALEH (2 day dives – whale shark encounters)
The vast and sheltered waters of Teluk Saleh are home to a remarkable, year-round aggregation of whale sharks. Working closely with local fishermen and spotters, our team guides guests toward recent sightings. The morning is dedicated to in-water sessions with these gentle giants. Depending on conditions and personal preference, guests may choose between diving and snorkeling, allowing for multiple perspectives of these majestic animals. Encounters are conducted respectfully and unhurriedly, ensuring both safety and an exceptional experience. We plan two day dives in the area, conditions permitting. After the final session, Adelaar continues her journey eastward toward Sangeang, cruising through the afternoon and into the evening.
Day 4 | SANGEANG & BANTA (3 day dives, 1 night dive)
Sangeang Volcano rises dramatically from the sea — an active reminder of the geological forces shaping this region. Below the surface, black sand slopes teem with macro treasures: frogfish, ghost pipefish, nudibranchs and other rare critters thrive in this nutrient-rich environment. At certain sites, streams of volcanic gas escape gently from the seabed, creating an otherworldly atmosphere. Banta offers a striking contrast. White sand substrates and robust hard coral formations host sea snakes, turtles, reef sharks, and occasionally eagle rays or manta rays. Wide-angle vistas dominate the day. A night dive reveals the reefs in a different light, when nocturnal species emerge.
Day 5 | SOUTH KOMODO NATIONAL PARK (3 day dives, 1 night dive)
This day is dedicated to rays.
At Manta Alley, often regarded as one of the finest manta sites in the world, we observe these graceful animals as they glide effortlessly through plankton-rich currents. In the evening, we search for their lesser-known relatives — torpedo rays — along sandy slopes illuminated by dive lights. South Komodo’s cooler waters support an impressive biomass and remarkable biodiversity.
Day 6 | SOUTH RINCA, KOMODO NATIONAL PARK (3 day dives, 1 night dive)
South Rinca is a photographer’s paradise. Exceptionally healthy reefs shelter an abundance of rare and unusual critters alongside dramatic soft coral growth. The scenery above water is equally impressive — steep hills and rugged coastline frame secluded anchorages where the yacht rests peacefully between dives.
Day 7 | CENTRAL KOMODO NATIONAL PARK (2 day dives, 1 night dive)
In the morning, we step ashore on Rinca Island for a ranger-guided walk in search of the Komodo dragon — the world’s largest lizard and a powerful symbol of this national park. Back in the water, Central Komodo delivers exhilarating action dives on coral-encrusted pinnacles and current-fed reefs. Dense schools of fish swirl around the formations, while reef sharks patrol the blue. An optional night dive concludes the day.
Day 8 | GILI LAWA, NORTH KOMODO NATIONAL PARK (3 day dives, 1 night dive)
The northern reaches of Komodo are home to some of the archipelago’s most iconic dive sites. Seamounts rise from deep water, attracting sharks, giant trevallies and barracuda. Strong currents nourish vibrant coral growth and extraordinary fish density — true signature dives of the region. In the evening, a short climb to the Gili Lawa viewpoint rewards guests with panoramic vistas across the park — a spectacular sunset over rolling savannah hills and turquoise bays.
Day 9 | TATAWA ISLANDS (3 day dives)
The reefs surrounding Tatawa are continuously fed by nutrient-rich currents, resulting in intense coral coloration and thriving marine life. These final dives within Komodo offer elegant drift profiles across slopes covered in soft corals and teeming with fish — a fitting farewell to the national park.
Day 10 | PALUE (2 day dives)
North of Flores lies the volcanic island of Palue.
Steep underwater walls draped in gorgonians and soft corals create dramatic vertical landscapes. With patience and keen observation, pygmy seahorses and rare nudibranch species may reveal themselves. After the morning dives, weather permitting, Adelaar may raise her sails for the final stretch toward Maumere — a serene and graceful conclusion to the voyage.
Day 11 | MAUMERE
After a final breakfast on board, it is time to disembark in Maumere. Until next time...
(The itinerary may vary depending on weather, sea conditions, and wildlife activity to ensure safety and the best possible experience).

Komodo Extended & Whale Sharks
Day 1 | — BALI (1 dive)
As the sun rises over Bali, the first day of your adventure begins at the harbor of Serangan. After an early pickup from your hotel, we transfer to Adelaar, where your journey officially begins. As soon as you step aboard, you will be welcomed by our friendly crew with a refreshing welcome drink and a plate of tropical fruit, whose flavor is unlike anything else in the world. While you relax and complete a few liability documents, your luggage will be brought to your cabin and the crew will gather to introduce themselves. Worried about remembering everyone’s names? No problem—you will find the faces and names of the entire crew displayed onboard. Shortly afterward, we will gather inside for the general and safety briefing. It is a little long, but necessary and mandatory, as we place great importance on the safety of everyone aboard. Meanwhile, Adelaar will already be cruising along the beautiful Balinese coastline, heading toward our first stop in front of Padang Bai. After lunch, we will hold the mandatory dive briefing before entering the water for our first dive at the beautiful Blue Lagoon. Here we will discover our first healthy coral reefs, along with symbiotic crabs, shrimps, and perhaps even the rare and well-camouflaged frogfish. What a wonderful way to begin the journey.
-------
Day 2 | — NUSA PENIDA (3 dives)
Nusa Penida lies less than 10 nautical miles southeast of Bali and holds deep spiritual significance for the Balinese people. According to local belief, the powerful spiritual entity Ratu Gede Mecaling reigns over the island. Once feared and even used as a prison island, Nusa Penida is now one of Bali’s most important diving destinations. Its cooler, nutrient-rich waters occasionally attract remarkable marine visitors, including hammerhead sharks, thresher sharks, dolphins, whale sharks, and even the occasional great white shark. From late July to October, cold upwellings from the deep ocean also bring the legendary Mola Mola, or sunfish, one of the most unusual yet graceful fish in the ocean. These giant fish often visit cleaning stations, offering divers a rare chance to observe them. Today’s dives will include long drift dives across spectacular reefs, where we may encounter schools of fish, tuna, barracuda, turtles, pufferfish, and much more. Let’s see what the Balinese spirits have planned for us. After the afternoon dive, Adelaar will begin an overnight cruise toward our next destination.
--------
Day 3 | — NORTH-EAST LOMBOK (3 dives)
A voyage such as this, traveling from Bali toward Komodo, offers the rare opportunity to dive the little-known northeast coast of Lombok. The remote islands of Lawang and Sulat, located just off Lombok’s mainland, offer exceptional diving. Surrounded by deep walls and channels, these sites provide beautiful drift dives in clear water, with reefs richly covered in hard and soft corals. Because this coastline is exposed to currents and cooler waters, it also attracts pelagic species passing through. Sharks below the water, dolphins above the sea. For snorkelers The long reef stretching between the two islands offers a wonderful underwater experience. Beneath the surface, colorful coral reefs thrive, while above the water the scenery evokes a truly remote tropical paradise. Keep an eye on the blue—pelagic species are often curious about snorkelers, so be ready for unexpected encounters.
-------
Day 4 | — TELUK SALEH, SUMBAWA (3 dives)
At the heart of the massive island of Sumbawa lies a vast bay known as Teluk Saleh. Hidden within this enormous bay is a well-known secret: the presence of the largest fish in the world—the whale shark. These gentle giants are attracted by the scent of fish from the local fishing platforms, where they regularly gather. We will begin the day with two diving and/or snorkeling sessions to meet these magnificent animals. There is no need to dive deep to appreciate them—the best encounters often occur near the surface, where you can observe how efficiently they feed by filtering water, plankton, and tiny fish. For safety, conservation, and health reasons, touching whale sharks is strictly forbidden, and maintaining respectful distance is essential to reduce stress on the animals. Yet despite our caution, they often approach unexpectedly, sometimes allowing for an unforgettable eye-to-eye encounter with the largest fish in the ocean. After this extraordinary experience, Adelaar will cruise toward the northern part of the bay for an afternoon dive in search of benthic critters, with the possibility of encountering passing pelagic species.
-------
Day 5 | — SANGEANG VOLCANO, SUMBAWA (3 dives)
This morning we wake near one of nature’s true marvels: Sangeang Island. This island is home to an active volcanic complex composed of two cones, rising to 1,949 m and 1,795 m above sea level. Volcanic environments often create conditions favorable for rich marine ecosystems. Here, over black volcanic sand, vibrant soft corals flourish, providing habitat for numerous benthic creatures and reef fish. One of the most fascinating phenomena found here is the so-called “champagne dive.” At certain dive sites, hot sulfur gas escapes from the volcanic seabed, creating streams of bubbles rising through the sand like champagne. You can place your hand above these bubbles and feel the temperature difference created by the volcanic activity. For our night dive, Adelaar will relocate to the peaceful bay of Banta Island. For snorkelers These volcanic gas bubbles are often shallow enough to be visible from the surface. Conditions permitting, you may also have the opportunity to reach one of the island’s beaches. Interested in local culture and boat-building traditions? A short walk leads to a small village at the foot of the volcano, where residents proudly maintain their boat-building heritage despite living in this dramatic environment. Once our diving and activities are completed, Adelaar will cruise overnight toward our next destination.
-------
Day 6 | — NORTH KOMODO (4 dives)
Welcome to the UNESCO-protected Komodo National Park. Today we wake near the famous islands of Gili Lawa Darat and Gili Lawa Laut, located at the northern entrance of Komodo Island. No visit to Komodo would be complete without diving here. Some of the most legendary dive sites in Indonesia are found in this region, including:
Castle Rock
Crystal Rock
Shotgun
Golden Passage Expect vibrant channels bursting with life, thrilling drift dives, and dramatic underwater pinnacles rising from the seabed. Encounters with large predators are common, including several species of sharks, the graceful eagle ray, and powerful giant trevallies. The sheltered bays between the Gili Lawa islands also offer excellent and safe night diving opportunities. For snorkelers Extensive reefs await exploration. Swim above massive coral formations that have developed over decades, including large fields of staghorn coral sheltering juvenile fish. Beautiful beaches and small trekking opportunities are also available. In calm conditions, you may even enjoy paddle boarding above these spectacular reefs.
--------
Day 7 | — CENTRAL KOMODO (4 dives)
The central region of Komodo is one of the most current-swept areas of the park. Depending on conditions, our team will choose the best dive sites for unforgettable dives around Tatawa and Siaba Islands. These locations offer some of the park’s most exciting drift dives, with possible encounters including large schools of trevallies, eagle rays, and cruising sharks. We will also dive the famous Batu Bolong, one of Komodo’s most spectacular sites. Known for its powerful currents and abundant marine life, the pinnacle is covered in bright multicolored soft corals, surrounded by giant trevallies, barracuda, sharks, and thousands of reef fish. We may also drift Karang Makassar in search of the majestic manta rays. As dusk approaches, we head to Siaba Besar Bay for a night dive. Seahorses, cuttlefish, nudibranchs, and many other creatures can be found here. Siaba is also famous as a turtle paradise, where large green turtles glide above the reef or rest peacefully in sandy areas and coral formations.
--------
Day 8 | — KOMODO ISLAND (3 dives)
We begin the day with a walk through Jurassic Park. Early in the morning we go ashore on Komodo Island, when the Komodo dragons often return toward the coast to bask in the warmth while watching for potential prey—or inattentive tourists. These remarkable reptiles are ambush predators, and during our one-hour guided walk the park rangers will teach us about their behavior, habitat, and survival strategies. After breakfast and a briefing about our encounters, we prepare for more underwater exploration. The surrounding waters are influenced by strong tidal currents. We may dive near the famous Pink Beach, drifting above healthy coral reefs and schools of fish, or explore the remote Loh Serah Bay in search of unusual critters. For snorkelers Pink Beach gets its color from microscopic fragments of red coral skeletons, combined with sand produced by parrotfish that grind coral into fine particles. The coral reef along the beach provides excellent snorkeling opportunities. Nearby islands such as Lasa Island and Intan Island also offer great snorkeling options. You might even encounter Pumba, the resident black pig living near the beach.
--------
Day 9 | — SOUTH KOMODO / PADAR ISLAND (4 dives)
Facing the Indian Ocean, the southern part of the park benefits from cooler, nutrient-rich waters rising from the deep. These conditions attract one of our favorite gentle giants: the manta ray. Manta Alley is a famous cleaning station where mantas often gather. Bring your camera and enjoy the spectacle. For more adventurous guests, we may also dive Langkoi Rock, where strong currents can attract pelagic species including hammerhead sharks. Later we move to Padar Island, where diving options include reefs shaped by small walls and ridges, submerged pinnacles, remote islands, and even wrecks combined with muck diving. After the third dive, we hike to Padar’s iconic viewpoint, one of Indonesia’s most famous landscapes—so famous it appears on the 50,000 Rupiah banknote. The hike takes around 20 minutes and is moderately steep, but the view is well worth the effort. For snorkelers Conditions can be choppy but rewarding, and manta encounters are still possible. Padar also offers beaches, one of which is home to wild deer. They are shy, but you may get close enough for a memorable photo.
--------
Day 10 | — NORTH RINCA (2 dives)
For our final dives, we explore the northern side of Rinca Island. This region offers a wide range of dive environments, including muck dives, protected reefs, and current-swept sites. Possible dive sites include Bonsai, Pengah, Wainilu, and Pulau Kamping. Expect finger-shaped reefs, pinnacles, and black-sand slopes filled with critters—a perfect way to end the diving portion of the trip. After lunch, Adelaar will cruise to Pulau Kalong. At sunset, relax on deck with a refreshing drink and watch the sky. As dusk falls, thousands of flying fox bats leave Kalong Island in search of food. With wingspans reaching up to one meter, they create an unforgettable spectacle. (And beware—they do not appreciate drones.)
-------
Day 11 | — THANK YOU FOR JOINING US
Our journey comes to an end this morning as we arrive in Labuan Bajo. Sometimes it is necessary to leave in order to return again. After one final delicious breakfast, it is time to disembark.
Thank you very much for choosing Adelaar for your cruise. We hope this journey has been an unforgettable experience and we look forward to welcoming you back soon for new adventures.

Raja Ampat & Banda Sea
Day 1 | Sorong
After the airport or hotel pick-up and transfer to Adelaar, the first day is dedicated to getting to know the crew, settling in, and enjoying the first day on the boat while we are sailing toward Raja Ampat. Depending on boarding time, we may already do a check dive.
Day 2 | Misool – Wagmab
It is difficult not to be too overwhelmed by the kaleidoscope of colours created by the dense soft and black coral growth around Wagmab to notice the equally colourful critters hiding within, such as nudibranchs, frogfish, boxer crabs, blue ringed octopi and others. They are also amongst the best sites to find Raja’s endemic walking shark on night dives. There are several lagoon and cavern systems waiting to be explored by speedboat, and snorkellers can immerse themselves in marine lakes inhabited by stingless jellyfish. 3 day dives, 1 night dive
Day 3 | Misool - Fiabacet
The healthy reef systems beneath the karst islands of Fiabacet have often been described as the world’s most complex and richest. A place where it is possible to see a bit of ‘everything’ from small to large. Several sites are reliable for sightings of mantas at cleaning stations. From time to time the stunning reefs are completely invaded by huge bait-balls of silversides, tiny fish that in turn attract squadrons of mobula rays, as well as hunting trevallies and barracudas. 3 day dives, 1 night dive
Day 4 | Misool – Wayilbatan
Wayilbatan’s seamounts and limestone outcroppings count amongst Raja ’s finest and most diverse dive sites. Already spectacular from both a topographical as well as coral coverage point of view, they are also rich in fish life as well as smaller critters. Larger pelagic animals are attracted to its more oceanic sites. 3 day dives
Day 5 | Misool - Balbulol
Exploring the Balbulol Lagoon, known for its dramatic limestone formations. Dives at sites such as Two Tree Island, Plateau, No Contest, and Love Potion, featuring impressive drop-offs, schooling fish, and stunning coral formations. A scenic boat tour of the Balbulol Lagoon, showcasing its unique karst formations and turquoise waters. 2 day dives
Day 6 | Koon
Do you like diving with a lot of fish? In that case Koon is the place for you. Apart from having too many fish to list, there is also a spectacular land – or rather surface – activity nearby. Depending on the tide we can enter a hidden system of marine lakes and canals for a snorkel and swim trek unlike any other! Typically, at the end of the trail you will be greeted by enthusiastic local village children. 3 day dives
Day 7 | Watubela
The sites around the Watubela archipelago are as remote as it gets. However, this is not the only charm of these remote islands located at the border between the Banda and Seram Sea. Spectacular white sandy beaches offer perfect locations for those postcard sunset drinks after a day’s diving surrounded by schooling fish. 3 day dives
Day 8 | Banda & Sjahrir
On the menu today is a dive on a spectacular submerged pinnacle covered in dense schools of fish, followed by a couple of drift dives. The unique location of the Banda archipelago enhances chances of close encounters with pelagics such as big tunas, Spanish mackerels, giant jacks or even thresher sharks. In the evening we will dive at dusk to try to catch a glimpse of the ever-romantic mandarin fish. Then it is off to the town of Banda Neira for dinner in the tropical gardens of a beautiful house from the colonial period. 3 day dives, 1 dusk dive
Day 9 | Banda Neira & Manukang
We spend the morning on a guided tour through the historic town of Banda Neira, taking in the fort, the museum as well as spice plantations. We take time to enjoy a traditional Bandanes breakfast before strolling back to port, passing through the bustling market of this lovely town. Then it is off to dive on a new reef that has been growing naturally on the spur of the lava from Gunung Api’s 1988 eruption – it is a fantastic example of nature’s ability to recover from natural disaster. The other two dives today will be along a volcanic outcrop off Manukang, that is according to Moluccan lore known to be haunted. This we cannot judge, but what we do know, is that it attracts its fair share of pelagic visitors. Schooling hammerhead sharks swim along the underwater ridges that are covered in huge barrel sponges. 3 day dives
Day 10 | Nusa Laut
Nusa Laut is the smallest and easternmost of the Lease Islands east of Ambon. This historically fascinating little island will host the final dives of the trip. The local villages here are proud of the way they were able to conserve their beautiful coral reefs off their famous white beaches. Nusa Laut’s stunning coral gardens are a worthy final chapter of the underwater part off the trip. After the dives we will hoist the sails to start heading toward Ambon, passing the islands of Sarapua and Haruku. 2 day dives
Day 11 | Ambon
After breakfast, it is time to say goodbye and disembark – until the next time.

But first, there will be dives along the seamounts off the coast, known for their big schools of big eye trevallies, sharks, pelagic fish and oceanic manta rays. 3-day dives
Day 8 | Namatote
If your trip happens to fall around a new moon, we will spend the day in the north of the island of Namatote. There we visit the traditional outrigger fishing platforms that are regularly visited by what the fishermen refer to as ‘mothers of fish’, i.e. the world’s largest fish, the majestic whalesharks. Closer to full moon there are no fishermen and whaleshark sightings are rare. During such times we will concentrate on the dive sites south of Namatote with their pinnacles, caverns, swim-throughs, and black coral forests. On one special rock cliff only visible by boat we can see prehistoric rock art, evidence of the culture of the region’s earlier human inhabitants. After Namatote we leave the Triton Bay area and start our journey to the North. 3-day dives
Day 9 | Triton Bay
The diving in Triton Bay is unique, as the small islands act as fish magnets and feature exquisite coral growth of both hard and soft corals. The bay is home to a plethora of critters such as pygmy seahorses, leopard and tiger shrimps, endemic flasher wrasses or rare cephalopods. On night dives in this bay, be on the lookout for Triton Bay’s endemic walking shark. A structure resembling a huge underwater coral caldera is one of the topographic features of this area. Another topside highlight is our speedboat tour through the maze of the large Triton Bay lagoon with its countless hidden bays and channels surrounded by unique karst rock formations. 3-day dives, 1-night dive

Total Raja Ampat
Day 1 | Sorong to Matan Island (1 check dive)
-------
Day 2 | Misool | Daram & Yilliet (3 day dives, 1 night dive)
-------
Day 3 | Misool | Boo, Fiabacet and Wayil (4 day dives)
-------
Day 4 | Misool | Fiabacet, Wayil, Pele (3 day dives)
-------
Day 5 | Misool | Balbulol* (2 day dives)
Option to visit one of two jellyfish lakes
-------
Day 6 | Piaynemo (3 day dives)
-------
Day 7 | Wayag (4 day dives)
Diving in the Wayag region, known for its pristine reefs and dramatic underwater landscapes.
Cathedral Rock – A massive underwater formation with swim-throughs, arches, and an abundance of reef fish.
Ridge Rock – A spectacular ridge dive with schooling jacks, barracudas, and occasional reef sharks.
Wayag Corner – A stunning site with coral-covered slopes and rich marine biodiversity. Non-diving activities: Wayag lies in the northern part of Raja Ampat, a dramatic seascape of towering karst pinnacles. Diving here can be excellent, but it is also a paradise for non-divers! Explore with a kayak or paddleboard, snorkel among giant clams in shallow reefs, or simply enjoy a pristine sandy beach — we’ll make sure your time is unforgettable. Hikes to spectacular viewpoints are also possible. While the paths are clear, there are no stairs, and the limestone is sharp and steep. Good shoes, steady footing, and strong knees are mandatory. We usually plan the hike early in the morning for the best light and safety. A dive will be skipped for this activity. At the summit, you’ll be rewarded with one of the most breathtaking panoramas on earth: a 360° view of the Pacific Ocean, the karst formations, and Raja Ampat’s endless islands. For those unable or unwilling to hike, we’ll arrange a speedboat tour of the lagoon instead. And to crown the day, our crew will prepare a beach BBQ at a handpicked location — a true cherry on the cake.
-------
Day 8 | Kawe (4 day dives)
Diving in Kawe, a remote region where strong currents bring large pelagics and incredible biodiversity.
Equator Cave – A unique underwater cave dive located near the equator.
Changgo – A deep reef site known for impressive coral formations and large schools of fish.
White Arrow, Eddy’s Black Forest – Dramatic underwater landscapes with dense coral gardens, sea fans, and frequent sightings of pelagic species. Non-diving activities: while divers enjoy the third dive of the day, non-divers can relax on Wofoh Island’s postcard-perfect beach, with its thin white sand and swaying coconut palms. Snorkeling here is outstanding — whether on sloping reef plateaus or vertical walls, Wofoh’s reefs are vibrant and healthy, sure to delight.
-------
Day 9 | Yangeffo & Mutus Village (3 day dives, 1 night dive)
-------
Day 10 | Arborek and Mansuar (2 day dives)
After an overnight cruise of nearly 10 hours from Yangeffo, Adelaar arrives at the port of Sorong before dawn.
-------
Day 11 | Sorong & Farewell
Depending on your flight time, enjoy your final breakfast and last moments on board. It is, sadly, time to say goodbye. After breakfast, our crew assists with airport transfers or hotel drop-off. As you disembark Adelaar, we hope the memories of this expedition — from manta rays and jungle peaks to quiet beaches and new friendships — stay with you long after your return.
We truly appreciated having you on board and hope we exceeded your expectations.

There is a regular through-flow of water in the Iris Strait between mainland New Guinea and Aiduma Island. This steady supply of nutrients triggers a veritable explosion of coral growth. Healthy areas dominated by enormous hard coral formations are interchanged with slopes covered in immense black coral bushes. The surrounding area is literally invaded by the largest and most colourful soft coral gardens that exist. All of this benthic life attracts schools of fish and squadrons of mobula rays. 3-Day Dives, 1-Night Dive
