About diving in Raja Ampat
Raja Ampat is dived from October to April, when the seas are calm, and the south around Misool stays open from May to September. Few places hold this much life. Cape Kri in the Dampier Strait once logged 374 fish species on a single dive, reef mantas queue at the cleaning stations of Manta Sandy and Manta Ridge, and Misool's limestone islands are wrapped in soft coral. Most trips run seven to ten nights from Sorong, and some board at Waisai. The Marine Park tag and the tourist levy are paid on top.
